Although the Lyrid Meteor Shower was originally scheduled for viewing, it was later announced that it would peak around 11:00 PM to midnight. During the event, attendees observed Jupiter, the Moon, and Venus through the telescopes.
The equipment featured a 6-inch Firstlight Explore refractor telescope; 12-inch and 8-inch Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain (SCT) catadioptric telescopes; and 8-inch and 10-inch Dobsonian Newtonian reflector telescopes. These provided varied angles and detailed views of Jupiter, the Moon, and Venus.
While waiting, students from various colleges, along with NEU faculty, staff, and their families gathered in Room 401 for their turn. ONESA officers repeatedly reminded guests to avoid camera flashes, as bright lights could interfere with the telescopes' optics and ruin the viewing experience.
