NEU LAUNCHES FIRST-EVER NEU CUP

The first-ever NEU Cup was officially launched through the New Era University Sports Committee on October 11, 2024, at the University Hall. This inaugural sporting event was specially organized to celebrate the university’s 50th Anniversary, marking a historic milestone in NEU’s commitment to fostering brotherhood, unity, and cooperation among support personnel, faculty, staff, and students.

Bro. Bryan Gatchalian, a staff member from the Sports Committee, led the oath of sportsmanship. University President Dr. Alberto Domingo Jr. emphasized the importance of physical fitness among school administrators.

“May malaking pakinabang sa pagsasanay sa katawan … Sa pamamagitan ng NEU Cup,hindi lamang natin pinapalakas ang ating katawan kundi pinapatibay rin natin ang ating pagkakaisa bilang isang pamayanan,” he said.

Following the launch, the matches took place at the NEU Gymnasium, culminating in two basketball exhibition games featuring faculty, staff, ministers, and ministerial workers. Participants expressed their excitement for the inaugural NEU Cup.

Nag-enjoy kaming lahat,” said Ms. Rose Mae Valle, a staff member from the Auditing Department.

With its successful launch, the NEU Cup set the stage for a tradition of unity and sportsmanship among the university community.
