Dot
Every single thing ends with a dot.
Every single thing ends with a dot.
A line starts with a dot and ends with it. Bright moments encapsulate hundreds of smiles and burning enthusiasm. To see the results, one must go through the process of rejections, pain, or even betrayal. Those who survive equip themselves with courage—bruised, yet fearless, and ready to step into the next chapters.
Albeit enthusiastic and even if we have so-called “bright moments,” destiny might redirect us to the realistic path we were meant to unfold. We are all dreamers, possessing unique traits among billions of others[4.1][5.1] and we are galaxy-like dots that shine collectively, yet brightness is defined by longevity.
Life works in mysterious ways. People tend to hold on to things that will only hurt eventually. Having that thought—it all began seamlessly, yet as time passes by, it fades, becomes dull, or worse it vanishes. Letting go is never [6.1]easy. That is life—everything is fleeting…nothing is permanent; nothing lasts forever. Ellipses in writing may either indicate a pause or stop.
Happiness is found in every victory. Souls feel lifted when achieving something one always wanted. Look at the stars above and the clouds—they are like glowing dots above. Literally, nobody could ever reach them, as too much high hopes might only cause failure. Nevertheless, even if there is failure or stumbling along the rocky roads, behind is the journey a person was once part of.
Many dreams are shattered thinking that every aspiration will be smooth sailing. Little do others know that there are raindrops or a storm which may hinder in the middle of the voyage. Those dotted-shaped raindrops might be early signs of retreat even against one's will. However, this is not a failed trip, instead, a deflection towards something bigger.
As we write on the paper, manifesting the letters to come alive, remember to put commas as pauses when necessary. Putting dots at the end of every sentence indeed marks the end. The more the writer insists on elongating each word, the more complicated and ambiguous the write-up could be. Although capital letters indicate the beginning of a sentence, there must be a period as we write along—one cannot proceed to the next sentence without a dot.
Writing, like life, can be exhausting, but what is the use of a dot? Humans cannot write endlessly—it only becomes draining. Thus, learn to pause. Learn to end. Learn to put a period.
A period might signify the end, but it does not mean erasing what came before—nor does it mean there is nothing after.
